Wednesday and Thursday were nightmares. My voice was gone on vacation. I felt miserable and guilty that I wasn't teaching. My site teacher was very understanding and didn't want me to feel bad for missing a few days. I did return on Friday and it was nice to see the students again. Some of them asked if I was feeling better and gave me hugs. I love kids!
Also, us student teachers had mock interviews with REAL principals on Thursday night. We have these to have some kind of experience of interviewing with Principals for teaching positions. How lovely is that? If my voice hadn't partially returned I wouldn't have gone to them. Since it did, I braved it and it was a good experience.
This morning, I also took a big test for prospective elementary education teachers, the Praxis II. I have been studying for weeks, gone to study groups, and freaked myself out about it this morning before I headed off to take it. I'm my toughest critic sometimes. Well, long story short, I passed it! Seeing that wonderful score come up on the screen made all my nerves disappear almost instantly. I also can't remember feeling my heart pound so hard for anything while I was waiting for my score to be posted. So to celebrate, Brandon spoiled me pretty much the whole day. He took me to Smash Burger (which is a little pricey, but I had an awesome coupon and the food was yummy) and then to Leatherby's at night. I had never been to it before, but from the looks of the line going all the way outside of the place, it must be a yummy place. Sure enough, it was delicious. I probably would have enjoyed my ice cream more if my sense of smell or taste were all the way intact. Oh well, I have about one more day to see if this cold or something gets better so that I can taste my leftover ice cream tomorrow. I love leftovers.
Other than that, we are good. We're on the right track to graduation, Brandon's 'fro is getting bigger, and we are excited.
Sorry, no pictures for this post. I'll remember to take some for the next post.
