Okay, the cat's out of the bag. My husband and I decided to keep this low key until we felt it was a good time. Let's rewind a little bit....
My husband has been wanting to join the Army National Guard for years. In fact, he almost joined before he went on his mission, but that's history. After we got married, him enlisting in the Guard would come up, but I would always tell him, "no."
If you know my husband, he is very goal-oriented and gives 100% to whatever he sets his mind to. I couldn't stop this goal of his, so we both decided to let him join back in July '12. We were able to get situated in our little abode and get things ready for me to man the ship while he's away at basic training.
Brandon left at the beginning of January and we made the first three months away from each other! These were the hardest because the only way we were able to communicate was through snail mail. Those with children I admire you, because this was hard but being alone with kids would be 10x harder.
My mom and sis-in-law came along with me to go see my husband graduate from basic in South Carolina. This was especially exciting because I was going to fly on a plane for the very first time in my life! I know, crazy, right? Anyways, it was pretty cool to fly on the plane and it was a quick trip to me.
We flew all night and drove to South Carolina for the graduation. It was cold, but I was so excited to see Brandon. There were about 1,000 other soldiers graduating so it was pretty cool to see so many of them.
The sweet reunion was unforgettable. Hugging him felt like Heaven on earth. I hope the pictures speak for themselves. We were able to spend the next four days together in Georgia eating some Souther BBQ and hanging out.
Dropping him off seemed harder than the first time because I was able to have him with me, so letting him go was hard. He is now in his AIT special training in Georgia in Military Intelligence and Security with computers. He's doing good and keeping himself busy. I am following suit and doing the same here in Utah with my classroom.
My husband is amazing. The things he does everyday for him and I make me love him more and more. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

That would be so hard being with out your love, even with no kids at home. You and Brandon are both very brave.
