Girls Trip 2013

If you remember last year, my mom, sisters, and I went on our first annual girls trip to California! If you need to jog your memory, you visit that post here....maybe.

We decided that we didn't want to make the drive to Cali this year and just go to Las Vegas. My mom wanted us to think of a show to see in Vegas and I really couldn't think of one that wouldn't break the bank besides walking the strip at night. So the night before we were going to head down to Vegas I get this text from my mom:
You gotta love my mom's auto-correct of what she meant to write, which was, "so"!
Anyways, it was kind of unbelievable to think we would really be going to see a singing icon!
Before we went to the concert, I ran into one of my best friends!!!
We love each other! BFF!

We also went to the M&M's World since my mom has never been there.
She looks so small in front of the M&M'S wall. That's why we call her, "Fun Size".

I also made my first purchase of makeup at Sephora, ever. I usually don't spend a ridiculous amount of money on makeup, but you know what they say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." It should be more like, "What happens in Vegas, stays in your bank account", or, "....stays on Facebook." Don't worry though, I got expert advice from my beautiful cousin who happens to be a makeup artist. I'm happy with my purchases.

We had to take advantage of the pool because it was in the triple digits when we were there.

Here we are at the show!
Okay, so when she first came out we all cried! Oh my gosh it was unreal!!!
She sang one of my favorite Celine songs, "The Power of Love".
It was an amazing show!

After our stay in Vegas we went to meet some good friends who the wife happens to be one of my Dad's converts from his mission, over 30 years ago! What a cute family they are! I wish I had taken more pictures of this family. Next time.
Glaucia and my mom. What a sweet lady!

After spending the night at Glaucia's, we headed to Boulder City to visit with one of the, "missionary moms" from my brother's mission, Shirley. It was fun to meet her and spend the day with her, too!
She took us to the Hoover Dam. We hadn't been there for over 20 years and it was cool/depressing.
It was cool because of this cool bridge that they had built and dedicated it to Pat Tillman, the pro football player who put his career on hold to do his military duties and unfortunately lost his life in the war.
The depressing part was the low level of water that was in the dam. I do remember the water spewing out of the other side of the dam 20 years ago, and this is what it looks like now:
The white level of rock is where the water level should be at. Because of water shortages in other states, like California, this cool place is suffering for it.
All in all, it was a great trip! I can't wait until next year's trip and what adventures it will bring us.
