Overdue

I have been meaning to blog about things that have happened lately since I posted last, but when I get home from work, I just sit on the couch, and lose all of my motivation to do anything. Who would have thought that teaching would be so exhausting? Yup, I come home Pooped.
Okay, now to rewind a little bit....
I meant to blog about this before, but I didn't put two and two together. Oh well. A month ago, we went to the SLC airport to welcome my cousin, Guero home from his mission (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Guero my friends, means, "white boy". Please, do not be offended of the fact that we call our cousin this. It has been his nickname for a very long time and we don't mean it in a mean way.
I felt so bad because I was waiting and waiting for him to come out, and the whole time, he was one of the missionaries holding the flag! I couldn't recognize him. Wow, the mission sure does change you from the inside AND out. He looks good and happy.

My cousin Frank and Brandon waiting for Guero's arrival.

Cameras locked and loaded. My sisters are very excited, can you tell?

The only picture I got of him holding the flag. Did NOT recognize him.

Saying hi to his Pops.

Paparazzi

My Tio and almost 1/3 of his kids. Happy bunch.

A picture of all of the returned missionary cousins. From left to right: Frank- Africa, Jacob-California, Angie- Texas,  Guero- Argentina, Nellie- Texas, and Brandon- Chile.

The girly girls with Guero.

I look like a hot mess. We were going to a family reunion right after this which included a pool party, so I didn't dress very nice that day.

Welcome home!

Next, Brandon and I went to St. George for Labor Day. We went fishing at the lake and visited the little city of Pine Valley, which is nestled west of St. George. We also toured the the church building there. This church building is pretty cool because the architect of this building built boats, so he built the roof like the bottom of a boat, but upside down.

The roof.

The week after, we made the trip up to Logan to see the Utes beat the Aggies.....yeah. We were so disappointed that it didn't happen.
My sister Nellie and I. It made for a cute picture.
We were also up in Logan to celebrate at my cousin's farewell bash before he goes out on his mission. He just went in this past Wednesday to the MTC. He's headed to the Chile, Rancagua mission. Not the same mission as Brandon's, but he was still excited that he won't be the only Chileno in the family anymore.

My Tia Monica and my grandma cutting pieces of the huge Tres Leches cake that  my Tia made for my cousin.
INSANE!
Elder Rojas and my Mom.

We were also fortunate enough to see my Aunt and my cousin's little girl who came all the way from Nebraska! The last time I saw them, the baby was just barely born and now, she's three! Boy, how time flies. I fell in love with her all over again!!! She is such a cute little girl and full of love and smiles.

She's reaching out because she wants to take a picture with my camera.

Aspyn and Brandon. She was showing us her new boots that my Mom got her.

Love her. Full of energy and life.

When we were heading back down, we went to our cousins' Linds' and James' baby blessing for their little girl. Just like Linds said, little Mina is a cuddle bug and a whole lot of adorable. I couldn't get enough of her.

Mina and her Vogue status. I must also mention that her lovely mother made her this adorable white dress. She truly has a gift.

We also went to the Utah State Fair this past Tuesday and had some fun! We took advantage of the most unhealthy food you can eat there. Good thing this only comes once a year. **Disclosure: Fried snickers will fill you up after the first two bites, no joke.
Every year they re-use the butter and make a new sculpture for the fair. Can you guess what this is from?

"Me Brandon. I am hungry, so I eat turkey leg."

Lonestar was at the fair, too! We had no idea, but we were still able to see them through the gates.  They sounded awesome!
Overall, we are doing good. My class is slowly getting smaller, but I'm sure it will spike back up again. We are all used to each other now and enjoy the time we have together. Brandon is working and working out. Life has been busy, but we are happy and blessed with what we have now and for our families.

How about that Utah vs. BYU game?

  1. No wonder you are exhausted, you and Brandon have been really busy! We really appreciate that you guys came to Mina's blessing, it meant a lot to us. The picture you took is so cute, I snagged it and cropped myself out of it!

We should all get together sometime!
