Touching Base...I'm Still Alive!

I want to thank you for your sweet words of encouragement and support. It makes me feel a little better and assures me that I can do this.
So, my first three days as a teacher have come and gone. It has been a good few days, I'm not going to lie. The very first day was especially awesome because I was able to meet quite a few of the parents! They all seem really nice and some seem to be very involved in their child's education and well-being, which is very, very good. Gotta love parental involvement. 
As for my class size. Take a few seconds to guess my class size.....

Okay. I have a grand total of 14 students! Yep, you read it correctly, 14. It is a pretty small size, but I will assure you that that number is most likely going to increase. If I had it my way, I would want at least 20 students. For now though, it's great to have such a small group because I feel like I can reach ALL of my students.  It is a diverse bunch, which I love. They are so small and cute that you can't stay upset at them for a long time. 
Am I getting the full effect of being a teacher? Oh yes. In fact, I think I'm more of a wimp because I am already getting a cold! I wish I had a better immune system. Hopefully it's only a 24-hour bug and I'll feel much better come tomorrow. 
I do love my job. It's great. To teach, to use your heart, body and mind to do the most obnoxious things to help students learn and succeed is my specialty and well worth it. I love to make my students laugh. It helps me remember to enjoy the journey of learning how to teach and not forgetting to laugh. 
I failed to post some pictures of my classroom before school started, so I'll do that tomorrow if I remember to post them.
